Shop Technician

Qualified Technicians Wanted for:

Installation and fabrication of truck bodies and equipment on new and previously owned work trucks.

Necessary Skills:

  • Ability to problem solve
  • Solid mechanical knowledge
  • Strong math skills

Job Description:

  • Respond to customer phone calls and emails
  • Learn about the products and equipment Casper’s Truck Equipment has to offer
  • Assist walk in customers, advising them on products and services
  • Understand the customers wants and needs, then recommend the proper equipment
  • Contact vendors for quotes
  • Provide bids and quotes to prospective and current customers
  • Upon sale, create sales orders, purchase orders and order equipment
  • Act as a project manager as the builds take place in the shop
  • Work with the Shop Manager and customer to address any changes to the project
  • Troubleshoot basic installation or parts questions with the shop or parts department
  • Research new product lines to fulfill customer needs
  • Attend off site product training seminars to learn about new and existing product lines
  • Attend trade shows, expos or customer promotional events
  • Job is based in our Appleton location
  • Minimal travel is required

Parts Counter

Essential Job Functions:

  • Shipping and receiving duties
  • Assist customers, including walk-ins, over the phone and electronically
  • Organize parts areas as needed
  • Assist yard person with unloading large shipments as needed
  • Review and order shop supplies
  • Restock parts room with items from incoming shipments
  • Pull and stage parts for shop
  • Complete and process paperwork for warranty parts
  • Must be knowledgeable working with a computer, must be comfortable with Excel, Work, Outlook, the internet, as well as the ability to learn inventory software
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong problem solving ability
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy; proven organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; have strong listening skills
  • Ability to function in a team environment; and the proven ability to work independently while delivering results

Preferred Experience and Education:

  • Previous experience a plus, but will train qualified individual
